OlsenBOYE

So, I must admit I've become a little overwhelmed with all these amazing and trend-inspiring fashionistas starting their own clothing lines.  Even though Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen already have their fabulous lines, The Row and Elizabeth & James, they're actually expanding, yippee!!! This time, Olsenboye...ew I kind of hate the name.  But, it's going to be for JC Penney, so...does this mean we'll finally be able to afford the clothes before the 50% sale? I hope so!!!

The Olsens aren't the first celebrities to hit up the JC Penney store.  They are actually following behind Kimora Lee Simons and Rachel Roy.  Lets hope it's a hit!! But come on, with their phenomenal, un-beatable, fantastical, magical (I'll stop myself) style...how could it not be!

"Winter Kate" by Nicole Richie

I'm so excited I can hardly type this...Nicole-is-doing-a-clothing-line, AND IT'S NOT JUST FOR PREGNANT PEOPLE...breath Jessica...breath.  As reported by WWD, the line will range from $35 for basics, to $110 for dresses, to $598 for a leather jacket, I think that's pretty reasonable Nicole!

"Her collection includes long slip dresses, asymmetrical short dresses, tunics and a kimono-sleeved, maxidress, which are meant to be layered with vests in cotton macramé, suede or silk, or a shrunken leather jacket," says WWD Marcy Medina.

Ahhhh, so excited.

Being able to recreate Nicole's style is earth-shattering for me, I do NOT think anyone understands.  Anyhoo, back to the info...Winter Kate will be sold at Neiman Marcus, Saks, Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, Kitson, and Intermix starting in February.

Countdown: 3 months and a couple days.

RZP does QVC

Okay, I'm well aware that this is very old news.  But, what I wasn't aware of was that QVC is sold online as well!  Call me stupid, but I always associated that with Suzanne Summers & 3am TV watching...which I'm not entirely dismissing...

Anyway, here are my favorites from Rachel Zoe's QVC Collection:

Expandable Travel Tote, $113

Flexible V Link Bracelet, $49.98

Faux Fur Vest, $79.80

Crinkled Patent Oversized Clutch, $73

Chic Cabochon Drop Earrings, $49.98

Remember the good old days? Well...they're back!

For all of you girls out there that grew up adoring all the magical colors of Hard Candy nail polish, fret not, it is in fact returning!! Sold exclusively at Walmart for $5, it will clearly be a hit.  OH-and the best news-according to Nylon, the rings will be making a triumphant return as well!!!! This time in plastic, not rubber.

Madewell, you did well!!!

I must admit, I've shopped in Madewell a couple times before but have never purchased anything.  Basically, it was just a little too preppy and not quite edgy enough.  Two words: They Changed!

Check out this amazing gray Madewell skirt.  I'm wayyyyy too obsessed with Miss Conrad.

This sequined scarf is amazing...and only $68, wohooo!!!

Visualize a really cool, leather, studded black clutch, $198

Pop! There goes a weasel? Nope, it's another pop-up store!

This weekend, starting Friday night for the "VIP" scene, there will be a great new pop-up store, Rock-n-Shop, on 201 Mulberry St. in Manhattan.
It's open from noon-7pm Saturday & Sunday (10/25, 10/26).

Although there are a ton of different brands at this one, some of my favorites are Elizabeth & James, Gryphon, and Haute Hippie.  And, to go along with the name, a proceed of the earnings will go toward VH1's Save the Music-as if we needed any additional encouragement to splurge?!?!

PS- Word on the street is that six indie bands will randomly give live concerts at this little shop...

Don't Be So Jaded...

After Chanel's 2010 Spring Runway Collection debuted, it was clear that green was going to be the it new color.  The hint of colored dangled from everything-hair, jewlery, bags, and clothes!  So, following the trend, it was only natural that Chanel would come out with their newest polish, Jade.  Imagine how great this will look with black onyx rings and gold bangles!

I'm a Barbie Girl...In a New & Improved, Barbie World

Living in Mattel's Barbie world sure has improved.  After wearing 1 billion pairs of shoes, Barbie has finally come to her senses, at 50 years old, and chosen the one and only Shoe God, Christian Louboutin.  Over the year, there will be three different styles for Barbie, all done by Louboutin...and most importantly, packaged in Louboutin shoe boxes-eek!!! According to WWD, Barbie will follow a jewel-thief theme in December, a safari-theme in February, and the ever fabulous Cannes Film Festival-themed Barbie, in May.  Jeeze, what a life this little doll has!

Where to Buy: http://www.barbiecollector.com/ and http://www.net-a-porter.com/
Cost: $150
Bonus: $40 for a set of 12 pairs of Barbie Louboutins-what a steal ;)

Furrrrr, it's cold in here!

Well it's October 15th and currently snowing in PA and CT...so, I highly suggest jacket shopping.  While the weather is clearly erratic, it's not quite time for the floor length down coats.  So what we're about to embark on is the joy of this season...FUR.

FUR
Fur, fur, fur, every girl needs it, and should most definitely own it.  Now, my first recommendation: Go vintage.  Ask your mother, grandma, aunt, anyone...they could be completely over their fur and be completely willing to give it up.  I was lucky that my Grandma gave me her stole last year (pictures will be below).  If you don't have any family members willing to dish out their fur (for free), go consignment shopping.  There are fabulous consignment stores all over that have absolutely amazing fur pieces for much less than asking price.  For instance, I got my first fur piece at the fabulous Portobello Road in London (pictures below).  Last weekend, two of my best friends purchased their first furs!  We were walking around Madison Sq. Park and stumbled upon a parking lot flea market.  Allison and Dani each bought a stole for $80-that's practically unheard of in nyc! So people-keep those eyes & ears open...fur is everywhere!

Style Tips: Younger people, ditch the floor-length furs.  Instead, try a stole (ONLY for fancy events), a vest (for everyday use), and a short chunky one (for night wear).

My grandma's fur stole :)

Perfect for the Working Girl

It's time to retire those cheap, post-college bags that we all bought because we were unemployed and could afford nothing else.  If you're one of the few that survived the recession and have a real, grown up, working woman job, than do yourself a favor, get a real, grown up, working woman, bag.  Many of my friends have asked me to help find them the  perfect everyday work bag.  My number one piece of advice?  Don't cheap out on yourself, splurge a little. Bags can last you a lifetime, so they should be special and a little more high end than the rest of your wardrobe.  They're usually the first thing people notice about your outfit-along with your shoes-so don't you want to give off a good impression?  As my mother always says..."Dress for the job you want, not the one you have."

Bags that I think are absolutely perfect for everyday wear, are ones that you will not get sick of (otherwise, not too ornate), look for; a neutral/classic color, one that doesn't have "this season's big trends" on it, and a size big enough that you can throw in more than a couple key items-ie. shirt to go out in to avoid going home, flats, or all your makeup!

"Rise & Shine East/West Tote"
See by Chloe, $650

"Jenna Hobo"
Beirn, $315

"Dylan Zip Tote" (in brown or black)
Linea Pelle, $495

Shoe of the week, 9/27/09

Louboutin, you and your red soles have done it again.  The 5 1/4 inch, Altadama Peep-Toe Pumps are perfection at its best. This shoe paired with warm winter whites & creams would be phenomenal.  Think cream skirt with a frilly silk brown blouse (match the shoe color).  Farial, after your birthday Louboutin purchase, I'll dedicate this shoe of the week to YOU :)

Cropped Tops? Yes, please!

We've seen fashion-forward Whitney Port wearing them, so naturally, it's our turn now.   I'll admit it, I'm not 100% sure how to pull off the cropped top perfectly, but I think I've got some pretty decent ideas.

First off, I'd probably say to wear with jeans that fit you flawlessly...no muffin tops or apple bottoms wanted!  A dark skinny, or a high-waisted bell bottom, both with, as Rachel Zoe says, tranny shoes.

Clockwise from upper left:
"Chandelier Sequin Cropped Top" By TOPSHOP, $90
"Snake Sequin Cropped Top" By TOPSHOP, $55

Think what that money could bring, I'd buy everything. Clean out Vivienne Westwood, In my Galliano gown. No, wouldn't just have one hood, a Hollywood mansion if I could. Please book me first-class to my fancy house in London town. - Gwen

Well here it is, my fall wish list.  From Gryphon to Elizabeth & James, from fur to sequins, it's all there and ready to be purchased.  Most of what made the list is available at Bloomingdale's, and this Thursday-Sunday is their Friends & Family 20% off event.  If you don't have the coupon, just type in FRIENDS when purchasing online.

"Amber Black Silk Jumpsuit" by Wink, on sale for $277.20
The jumpsuit has reached perfection.  Wide legs, black silk, and ruffles, what more could a girl ask for?

"The Sequin Shorts" by Gryphon, $370
These are so great, and very classy looking-not too short.  Perfect for night-pair with black silk strappy tank-think Joie.

"Shirttall Mini Dress" by Twelfth St. by Cynthia Vincent, $372
Great color to brighten up the colder fall days. Would look great with a big brown fur jacket!

"The Rocker Vest" by Gryphon, $725
Well this price tag is a little ridiculous, especially because it's faux fur...really Gryphon?? Anyway, it's still awesome-the collar beading is beyond fabulous and this vest would make any outfit instantly chic.

"Lauren Top" by Wink, $154
This silk tank has a fabulous subtleness to it.  It's a twisted, racer back and has amazing, vibrant colors. Would spice up any suit and would go great with cream.

"Runway Fringe Cardigan" by Rebecca Taylor, $365
So comfy, perfect for just lounging around or running errands.

"Fur Skirt" by Elizabeth & James, $285
This skirt is so soft!  This would look great with a bright top and blazer.  A perfect, classic, mini.

"Follage Dress" by Elizabeth & James, $465
Perfect, done.

"Sequin Dress with Keyhole Back" by Alice & Olivia, $495
Ahh, sequins.  I'm just overly obsessed.  This dress was done perfectly with a sexy, yet classy, keyhole back.  Just make sure you have the long skinny legs to rock this one, because it is short!
